I had a very very similar experience regarding a broken toilet handle, Thai cuisine induced diarrhea, a church, and a piano lesson.

It's one of the main reasons I carry around a swiss army knife at all times.

My sympathies.

Since he wasn't considerate enough to spare you the turmoil of someone else's ire, you should get him in a place where he depends on you to get somewhere or continue doing something with tight time constraints. When that happens, you should require him to learn about the courtesy flush.
